Here at Peak Gateway we are always looking to try new things and to help the environment and to that end on selected Saturdays we run a shuttle bus from our site that visits local attractions as well as running to Ashbourne town centre and back again. Ring reception to see if it is on for the coming weekend.
At the weekends parking can be problematic and expensive in Ashbourne itself, that coupled with the fact that our RV visitors were without transport whist here got us thinking laterally. In order to save our customers money and to reduce their carbon footprint we have teamed up with a local bus company 'Warringtons of Ilam' to provide a shuttle bus between our site and Ashbourne together with some local ammenities and attractions.
Our shuttle bus allows swimmers to take advantage of the Ashbourne Leisure Centres' fun sessions where they get out their inflatable assualt course. It also allows visitors with young children to visit 'Lunar Lift-Off', an indoor play area in Ashbourne for the under nines - it has an excellent Cafe serving home made cakes and savouries.
The bus service is running every other Saturday at the moment and this will increase to every Saturday during the summer holidays. The timetable varies slightly from weekend to weekend because of us tying into other local attractions but a sample service timetable is shown below (actual route and timings vary week to week):
